A ravenous mass attacks Wrapped in plastic Hazardous wraps are capped With material access Fabrics can’t degrade Can’t negate the tactics Arrange the facts Do whatever pays the handling Do! Whatever blame at random Paced to blow up Set the trace, dissolve, replace Recreate Fees of life, feeds the strife Pay the piper, they deed in twice No need in life Something I really oughta know Shit I really gotta go Pick up plight Pitty self it Giddy get it Come on silly, spend it Don’t be caught up in the city Busy, busy blending Cause I thought that I thought this through Figuring this, this could not be true But I’m caught up in the middle Simply moving things a little Really doing things for real though? Am I living in my ego? Am I tripping, am I in the clouds? Isn’t this the sequel? Yes, isn’t this the sequel? Awww shit! And it's as far as we go These lines are posthaste In times of low faith We lied and lined Landfills loaded And no way There’s no play Resourceful Hold it, it’s forceful? Had you started twenty years ago We wouldn’t go through The warming, the storms Eruptions it’s on Displaced in a moment Cracked the token Broke it hoping For the flood The minute march I conjured up What’s left Just ain’t enough To cover up So cut it up Put it aside Enough’s enough This toxic feed Is just a dud Simplistic spammed Mean mugged Fisher price plastic rant They clap their hands As we collapse their shares You’ll see that’s irregular Point to point Swing like the pendulum Breath like the rest of ‘em Quick! Was this infant guilt Spine chiller With that instant filth I’m filling up all this time Thinking that it’s alright Rigged This rollercoaster Rollercoaster I’m ready up for this ride Ignore, it’s all fine Rigged This rollercoaster Rollercoaster Woke up this morning I feel it growing all the time All the time Give up this moment My fear is growing All the time All the time

I think you get enough I think you get enough I think you get enough I think I’m feeling tough I boxed it often Awfully confiscated Solace Coffins locked And tightly stored Indite The stories of the mind Exciting the stories Of the time And I be boiling all the while And I be trolling all the time Slightly polarizing Holding hives and mines alike Minding molds incline the style Ignite despite this byte Of memory is telling me It’s over right? A four step plan Another function To fuck shit It fluxes Hoarding harmony You’re so seductive But I deducted The break is greater Than the wait The weight is bigger than the stakes And I'll be pulling all the stops When the shot clock lock Yes it’s awful Let’s get it on As the microbe feeds This mass machine Carbon tiled scabs Manufactured Spreads this Glimpse of dreams Bleeds its Tantrum feeds Its grip And keeps tight It’s lean Hovers like Like a wish Made through the night And I fell soft When the killing Was the kids Was the will Was the spirit Crushed Shit did you get enough? Uhh! I think you get enough I think you get enough I think I’m feeling tough Woke up this morning I feel it growing all the time All the time Give up this moment My fear is growing All the time All the time Woke up this morning I feel it growing all the time All the time Give up this moment My fear is growing All the time All the time Woke up this morning This morning

Written, Recorded and Produced by Atsuko Chiba

Recorded, Produced and Mixed by Matthew Cerantola

Mastered by Fabian Tormin

Concept and Artwork by Rodrigo Sergio Eguren Raez

Wandering away from their usual rock-centric approach to psychedelia, Atsuko Chiba present the Quick Infant Guilt double single, a scorching experimental rap diptych released on August 20 via Mothland. Parts effect-heavy synthesizers, trafficked string instruments, tightly sampled drum backbeats and electronic whirrings of unknown origins, this represents the band’s first true venture into alternative hip hop to this date. Recorded by Matthew Cerantola at Room 11, and put into images by subversive artists Rodrigo Sergio and Phil Osborne, this crafty sonic oddity should definitely please fans of MF Doom, Run The Jewels or Madlib, while also finding a niche with experimental rock melomaniacs.

about

Atsuko Chiba Montréal, Québec

Montreal’s Atsuko Chiba venturesomely crosses genre-defining borders with a cohesive and hypnotic blend of post-rock, progressive rock, and krautrock, weaving together a rich sonic tapestry that subverts through offbeat songwriting. The psychedelic armada is back with Water, It Feels Like It’s Growing (January 20th, 2023), unearthing a fierce collection of droney, yet bombastic compositions. ... more
